Generally speaking, the joystick output of the general potentiometer type, Hall type and conversion circuit type is analog output (output voltage, current); In addition, CAN joystick, output for digital (code protocol output), generally CAN bus, USB bus, RS232 485 bus and so on.
The advantages and disadvantages of analog and digital signal joysticks are as follows:
A. Analog joystick:
Advantages
1. Output type is simple (voltage value or current value button switch for signal on/off), signal processing is simple;
2. Low implementation cost;
3. Low maintenance cost. Only the electrical knowledge of basic circuit skills are required for maintenance.
Disadvantage
1. In the assembly wiring harness, if the analog output needs to use a large number of wires, control the number of wiring harnesses.
2. If there is no external PLC, single chip and other controllers, it is impossible to determine which controller or which switch is out of the problem without disassembling the machine for detection, and the problem must be detected by disassembling the machine for detection. In PC communication, as well as the need for bus communication occasions can not be directly used, the need for external bus board.
3. Analog output itself cannot, or is difficult to realize the use of some algorithms or logic.
B. CAN type:
Advantage
1. 1. Fewer wire harnesses. In the use of large vehicles, commercial vehicles and passenger vehicles, bus output is basically used, which greatly reduces the cost of wire harnesses and the space for placing wire harnesses (signal exchange only needs 4~5 wires, power + -, CANH, CANL, CAN shielding).
2. It is convenient to process signals, which can centralize data and carry out digital processing and transformation of the input analog quantity, and even add algorithms.
3. When a function is faulty, you can intercept bus message to read the output of the problem, and you can confirm the fault information and fault value without disassembling the machine.
Disadvantage
1. The implementation cost is high, requiring additional bus board and corresponding software to realize; If the subsequent software needs to update functions or implement new functions, professional software engineers are required to do so. The stability design of bus circuit itself is also exquisite;
2. Because of high maintenance costs, maintenance personnel need to be familiar with electronic knowledge, protocols and intercepting messages, read messages, and understand the relationship between message locations and components.
3. In addition to the fault of the handle analog output, it will also cause the fault of the bus circuit board, and the reliability of many components will be reduced.
Whether using bus or analog output, if the stability of the handle itself is problematic, then quality accidents are bound to occur.
